Purpose

Build a citation surface across a defined query set by producing a coherent corpus of reference content that answer engines can ground on. Targeted at brands that have decided GEO is a strategic surface and are willing to commit to the slow compounding work.

Steps

  1. Define the query set

    Write down the population of questions you want to be cited for. Bound it. Revisit it quarterly. Without a written query set, the work compounds in the wrong directions.

  2. Establish the entity layer

    Audit the brand's knowledge-graph presence. Add structured-data markup, canonical patterns, and sameAs relationships. The downstream citation work depends on this layer being correct.

  3. Build the retrieval store

    Assemble the grounded source material the drafting agents will pull from. Internal documents, public references, structured product data, historical content. Keep it clean; the drafting layer's quality ceiling is set here.

  4. Run brief-and-draft cycles per query cluster

    For each cluster in the query set, the brief-writer agent translates the cluster into a concrete writing spec, the drafting agent produces a draft against the spec using the retrieval store, the editor agent reviews against the brand's voice and accuracy standards.

  5. Human review at the editorial checkpoint

    A senior practitioner reviews each draft on a card-based surface. Approve, edit, or route back. This is the load-bearing human checkpoint.

  6. Publish, mark up, cross-reference

    The schema/markup agent ensures the published piece is correctly structured. Cross-references to other entries in the corpus are added. The piece joins the citation surface.

  7. Measure citation rate

    A measurement panel samples answer-engine responses across the query set and reports citation count and context. Use the data to revisit which clusters need more work next quarter.
