Marketleaf Practical AI marketing intelligence for in-house teams and small agencies.
Issue 1 · Vol. 1 · Est. 2026 The AI marketing trade, weekly.
Audience: In-house content teams; B2B brands running serious newsletter programs; agencies that operate newsletter programs for clients. Cadence: Weekly for serious publications; biweekly is a defensible compromise; monthly tends to lose audience.

Purpose

Solve the recurring-cadence content problem. The teams that try to ship a serious newsletter on a steady cadence almost always either burn out or quietly lower the quality bar over time. The routine is the structural answer.

Steps

  1. Define the editorial position

Write down what the newsletter covers, what voice it carries, who it is for, what success looks like. The newsletter exists as a publication, not as a marketing artifact.

  2. Research and topic selection

The research agent surfaces candidate topics for the upcoming issue. The editor — a human — selects which to pursue.

  3. Drafting against the brief

The drafting agent produces the issue draft against the editor-approved brief, grounded in the research and the brand-voice memory.

  4. Human editorial review

A senior practitioner reviews the draft on the card-based surface. Edit, route back, or approve. This is the load-bearing human checkpoint.

  5. Format, send, archive

The format/template agent applies the publication's template; the send agent dispatches the issue; the archive is updated.

  6. Performance review

The performance-analysis agent produces a post-send report. The team reviews and adjusts the editorial direction monthly.
